Meet this year’s finalists.

Startup Avalanche has proven to be a highly efficient program through the years, as some of the most promising startups have had the chance to carry on their technology-earnest ideas through the world with the help of the investment prize.

At this edition, we were glad to witness so many different ideas that have the potential to give our technology ecosystem a fresh boost. With the help of our partners from Risky Business, we managed to sort out the most clean-cut ones, so our list of finalists consisted of the following 16 teams:

◌ Better Nature from UK — which stands for all natural plant-based meat alternatives that do not compromise on taste, nutrition, and convenience.

“We are a food-tech start-up dedicated to creating a food system that is better for people and better for the planet. It may be a bold ambition, but we think we’ve found the perfect way to do it — through the power of tempeh! By applying a 21st-century lens to the process of tempeh fermentation, we’re continuously working to create the world’s most delicious and nutritious tempeh-based food products.”

◌ Patch AI from Italy — a startup that streamlines the clinical trial network of patients, researchers, and sponsors.

“Patch AI transforms clinical research by virtue of focus on patient centricity and forefront digital technologies.”

◌ Maillon Fintech from Romania — Maillon is a B2B2C platform offering a software-as-a-service solution for retailers and lenders, acting as a point-of-sale marketplace that allows retail customers to select best available financing solution, both in-store and online.

◌ Competitors App from Romania — a tool that makes extensive research of your competitors’ activity and sends you the statistics without requiring any effort from your side. It is an essential step in any business demeanor.

◌ Aeler Technologies from Switzerland — AELER is an AI-driven company building the technologies to automate in-transit freight logistics. They focus on robust data collection for predictive and prescriptive analytics of the end-to-end supply chain. To provide seamless end-to-end visibility services, they redesigned the fifty years old intermodal container into a next-generation version capable of monitoring in real-time the container and its cargo while being significantly better in operation.

◌ Wiserstate from Latvia — Wiserstate is a platform for soft skills development for new managers with leadership coaches. Personalized e-sessions, using coaching methods, on-demand, ongoing and situational.

“We founded Wiserstate with the mission to help people to become more fulfilled at their work and life. We believe personal development is at the basis of job fulfillment.”

◌ Tested Works (Eyezilla) from UK — Eyezilla is a computer vision platform for business to collect data, automate and monitor.

“With our restaurant visitor analytics solution, you can analyze the number of guests visiting your restaurant, including their genders and ages. This is especially beneficial to gain a deeper understanding of the visitors, review the effects of a targeted marketing campaign, and find out visiting patterns.”

◌ Betmarkets from Portugal— Betmarkets is a web platform that allows you to invest in sports betting by automatically copying sports betting experts. With a mixture of beating the market, independent investment, and profit sharing they guarantee a good investment.

 Poligy from Germany — the future of green energy, as they call themselves, Poligy’s technology consists of modules that provide the customer with green energy and heat for his house the whole year.

“Not only do our solar modules generate electricity, but they also provide heat and have an integrated energy storage system. Therefore, expensive batteries become unnecessary and available space on the roof is used efficiently. Our production process only needs a minuscule amount of electricity.“

◌ Medicsen from Spain — Medicsen provides a closed circuit system for the smart management and treatment of diabetes, the first non-invasive artificial pancreas. Their learning algorithm predicts future glucose values up to 1 hour in advance with less than 10 glucose units as error and the system measures important parameters to adapt the therapy for each patient and each moment recommending meals, insulin doses, and exercise.

◌ FintechDB from Germany — FintechDB is a marketplace of fintech solutions. They’re building tools to help financial services understand what fintech companies do, and how that’s relevant for their business.

“Our goal is to speed up partnerships and supplier relationships between tech vendors and financial services.”

◌ Docbook from Romania — Docbooks enables efficiency in the doctor-patient relationship, as you can make real-time bookings with doctors through this platform.

◌ Swap Language from Denmark — Swap Language enables people from all over the world who want to learn a foreign language to get in touch with native speakers and learn directly from them. They empower native speakers to create and sell language lessons locally customized to the consumer’s individual motivation to learn.

◌ Glorify from UK — A cloud-based graphic design software that helps e-commerce entrepreneurs create a beautiful brand and visual content for their product.

◌ Stressless from Romania — TULLY is a wearable device helping children learn how to control themselves and cope with emotional flares and diminished attention problems. Their initial focus is on the hyperactivity aspect, where Tully’s biofeedback and analytic algorithms can make an important difference in the child’s emotional and behavioral balance and allow them to reach their full academic potential.

◌ Ferterex from Latvia — A patent-pending home treatment device for men which increases sperm quality and testosterone levels with the help of PBMT technologies.

The Startup Avalanche Winner

The Startup Avalanche winner is Alessandro Monterosso with Patch AI, a startup that streamlines the clinical trial network of patients, researchers, and sponsors. Congratulations!

Thus, the first AI-powered conversational platform for clinical trials is now looking forward to a brighter future.
