Connatix is on a mission to help you grow your business through the most engaging form of media out there — video. Techsylvania’s partner for the 6th edition, the company created the next-generation video platform with one goal in mind: to help publishers succeed. For the future, Connatix has big plans, rooted in innovation.
In February, Connatix announced its very first acquisition. Who is the latest member of the Connatix family and what does this new partnership mean for the company?
Earlier this year, we announced our first acquisition — Kamidoo — which will open up the world of automated content development for our publishing partners. Using cutting-edge AI and natural language processing, Kamidoo was built to instantly create complementary, immersive infographics using keywords pulled from the publisher’s existing content. This advanced technology will be incorporated into the Connatix platform, which will enable both the monetization of content and increased engagement.

This type of automated content development enhances our current suite of video formats, which is meant to provide publishers with ready-to-go video monetization tools. As innovators, we’re always looking for new ways to help publishers maximize and monetize content.
Connatix is also happy to bring Dor Leitman, founder of Kamidoo, onto the team. Dor will oversee the integration of natural language processing into the Connatix platform, which is expected to be completed in the summer of 2019. “There’s a natural synergy between our two companies,” Dor said, “as we’ve both been working toward the same goal: to give publishers a way to enhance their content narratives while expanding opportunities for monetization.”
This acquisition puts Connatix at the forefront of interactivity and expands on our ability to effectively monetize the video publishing efforts of our partners. Learn more about the acquisition here.
Connatix rolled out Gallery at the end of 2018. Tell us more about this new feature.
At Connatix, we’re dedicated to promoting engagement and creating new revenue opportunities with our publishing partners’ content. By doing so, we’re helping to ensure their content is “sticky,” that it keeps users on-site longer and revenue up. Gallery is a brand new extension to our video formats that helps achieve both goals. The new layout displays more content alongside your video, showcasing your content and helping keep readers engaged.
One exciting component of Gallery is the click-to-play feature, which guarantees higher CPMs for publishers. What’s more, the great thing about Gallery is that it doesn’t just incorporate video content: Gallery can suggest other types of content on your website, such as blog posts and articles. This kind of flexibility means you can monetize on all your content, not just video. All this results in higher ad earnings, increased pageviews, and more time spent on-site.
Gallery joins a host of other innovations we’ve made to encourage reader engagement, including emoji reactions, surveys, and more to come
So what’s next for Connatix in 2019?
Anyone who was present for Techsylvania last year might remember our efforts to make video advertising more accessible for publishers. The result was an end-to-end video ecosystem, including a lightweight, high performance video player, a robust CMS platform, tools to manage and develop video content, and extensive monetization tools.

We’re now focused on ensuring this ecosystem remains at the forefront of the industry. As our CEO David Kashak says, “innovate to survive.” Very soon, we’ll be launching a new online video player platform with enhanced editorial capabilities and built-in revenue engine to create a truly modern video publishing service. Some of the changes publishers will see include:
- Our online video platform (OVP) is being developed as a separate platform from our suite of experiential video formats. Called Elements, the new platform will be a new and improved platform with enhanced features that were built for the modern publisher. We’re also making it even easier to use by refining the aesthetics and user experience
- Our video formats platform, called Playspace, will be the home to our highly engaging video formats, including Highlights and Stories. This new platform will launch in summer 2019, with exciting features to help publishers provide immersive, interactive experiences. Our recent acquisition of Kamidoo and its robust natural language processing capabilities will be featured alongside this new platform launch. Stay tuned for more info around this.
In addition, we’ll continue as we always do to innovate! The video advertising industry has a world of possibilities, and we’re excited to be part of its future growth.
